The number of 16 year olds that don’t want a driver’s license is growing.
Netflix show, “Old Enough” children doing things at a shockingly young age.
Carr asked his daughter, Clementine, to get a box of Lucky Charms and have her meet Carr in the produce section.
She showed up with 3 employees. Now she is 6 and her and her brother can spend time in the toy section at Target while he shops. This allows them to become more sure of themselves and to become more confident in themselves and solve problems on their own.
We discussed when do we leave our children at home.
“I would rather them do something dangerous than destructive.” Would take them on a hike and teach them to manage danger. They would also pack their own bag and they packed all candy and ended up having a stomach ache and hungry.
Failure is the best teacher. They need to fail and learn. What is failure anyway? It’s just learning how not to do it. There is a lot more anxiety in kids today because they are afraid of failure.
“Old Enough” doesn’t show the amount of time the parents take with the kids to train them how to do it. It takes a long time to model and assist the children with what they need to learn before they can start to try and do it on their own.

How do we train our children to do do homework? One dad said that they would tell their children that if they fail at school then it was their responsibility. It was presented in such a way that “your gift makes a way for you” from the book of Daniel that there was something that made them more excellent than others.
Another dad said, that he asks “do you feel as though you did the best in the view of God.” Do your very best, and if you very best is a “B,” then we are okay with that. This allows them to self-evaluate so they can ask, “did you do your best?” Dad’s can ask “how do you know you did your best?” You can also ask “how could you improve and do better?”
